Rainy Season in the Mexican Caribbean

The rainy season in the Mexican Caribbean is from June to November and Sunset World hotels announce that they are ready to receive their members and guests with fully functional facilities prepared for eventualities, in which case we inform our members and guests about risks through five alert levels that indicate the actions that must be carried out to adequately protect ourselves. We invite you to learn about the five alert levels.

BLUE ALERT – MINIMUM DANGER
The presence of a tropical cyclone is detected heading towards our coasts. Stay tuned for weather information provided by official sources.

GREEN ALERT – LOW DANGER
Areas are cleaned and objects that obstruct power cables or that may represent danger are removed. Doors and windows are sealed to avoid risks from winds. In addition, drains and drains are cleaned to avoid water accumulation.

YELLOW ALERT – MODERATE DANGER
Put your personal documents and medications in a plastic bag and keep them close at hand.

ORANGE ALERT – HIGH DANGER
The gas and electricity supply is cut off. Risk areas are evacuated.

RED ALERT – MAXIMUM DANGER
Stay away from doors and windows, stay calm and stay informed. Stay in a safe area and follow instructions from authorities.

IMPORTANT: Remember that significant rain may occur in any alert color.

General Recommendations

Our hotels are fully prepared and our staff is trained to face a contingency, please remain attentive to their instructions.

In case of rain and/or strong winds, please stay sheltered indoors.

If necessary and if the authorities indicate, the hotel will be evacuated. We have an assigned shelter. We will inform you timely and bring you to this safely.
