Cancun renews its public transportation with 100 new units equipped with high technology for the hotel zone. Rodrigo Alcázar, director of the Mobility Institute of the State of Quintana Roo (Imoveqroo), said that this is the beginning of the modernization and transformation of mobility in Cancun. These units are intended to be used by tourists as well as workers who use this means of transportation on a daily basis.
Each one has air conditioning, security cameras, speed limiters that prevent drivers from exceeding 50 kilometers per hour, GPS tracking devices, more comfortable seats, and a touch of modernity.
In the second phase of the project, 84 more units will be added, which will be equipped with prepaid devices so that the user can pay in advance, thus avoiding paying the driver directly and improving the user experience.
